Ted Vs. Bru!

I noticed while driving through Columbus that "The Bru" played 3 A.M. by Match Box 20. Are they trying to target Ted's audience? I thought the format was supposed to be 80's based?
Secondly, what one of these two stations will end up on top? I think now that Ted has Bob and Tom, they have a shot. Or, will 105-7's signal give them the edge?

The Brew might be going after some version of the "Variety" niche that Ted is trying to fill. But as for Ted's existing audience, there really isn't much there to take. This is not meant at all as a criticism of Ted, just a statement of unfortunate fact. Ted is my favorite station in the market right now.

It is. That means the 80's is the Brew's era of primary focus, not that they won't play anything from other decades. In fact, they also play plenty of music from the 70's -- even the early 70's.

The Brew's signal certainly gives it a big edge. (Hopefully Ted's application for a tower move will be approved, but posters to this board who seem knowledgeable about such things have said that's unlikely.) 105.7 already had more than twice Ted's 12+ AQH even before becoming the Brew. Absent a signal upgrade for 103.9, it's still not inconceivable they could reach parity with 105.7 if Bob & Tom give Ted a bump *and* 105.7 tumbles as a result of its changes.
