Teen pop on variety hits?

One thing that's been noticeably missing on Jack FM here in Jackson has been teen pop music from artists like Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, etc. That's actually a good thing that I don't hear them on Jack. Do other Jacks/variety hits stations have a tendency of staying away from teen pop?<P ID="signature">______________

There is a variety hits format out there that does play Pop hits. I should know, I created it. Pop Radio. popradioonline.com

Thanks.

Most do. I have heard the occasional Britney song on Bob-FM Norfolk, and recently heard a rap-free mix of Usher's "Yeah!" while listening online to Charlie in Portland, OR. These seem to be stations that take the "variety" part a bit more seriously than most others.

I believe Jack to be a classic driven format, more than a New or almost new driven one. The "play what we want" idea is more "Play the classic hits, and the odd new tune we want"

I could be wrong though...
