Wow....so now they are bouncing the talent they JUST brought in? People at corporate must be REALLY restless. Too bad ... thought she was the most natural, best anchor they had. I also like "informal" but the Sunday dual-anchor cheerleading show has drifted too far out of control. Very tough to watch anchors call each other "honey".
Sula Kim appears to no longer be at King 5/NWCN based on her Facebook bio and a tweet from freelance weatherman Mark Coleman.
(though she is stil on the NWCN website, which has not been updated in some time).
Just curious who do you all think will anchor weekend evenings now that Sula Kim is gone and Danielle Leigh appears to have been demoted to full time reporting. NWCN goes off the air next week and Greg Copeland has been pushed off the morning show so it could be Cam Johnson & Greg Copeland to weekends maybe even Angela King? Lily Jang could be a possibility but would she wanna join a station owned by the same company who bounced her in Houston?
The reality is: Most TV viewers are officially younger than you and don't know nor care of any such "legacy", or how old a TV station is. The Millennial generation (also known as target demographic) are interested in information that they want now, not when they get home later. If TV stations can't provide the appropriate talent and information quickly enough to move the competitive needle, then the station has no other choice but to move onto the next thing. They'll get their karma sometime. KING will drop to dead last. Mrs. Bullitt continues to roll in her grave. The legacy of the King Broadcasting Company is gone for good - replaced by corporate bigwigs from Virginia who only care about cheap talent, rather than legacy of the OLDEST television station in Seattle.
It has ceased operations. Just a slide thanking viewers for watching over the past 21 years. A huge loss to the Northwest - RIP NWCN, 1995-2017!
Charter will likely replace ch 50 with something from the Digital Silver package - they have done this on other ch 99 + below placements. FYI is on ch 31 (digital only), Destination America is on ch 48 (digital only), etc.
Comcast? Hope CBUT moves to ch 2. Other systems in Western WA should follow. I never liked how CBC Vancouver was way down at 99 like a red-headed stepchild.
Who knows about the other cable systems in the NW.
I watched the final, retrospective show online yesterday.
Just shows how far NWCN has fallen the last few years ... it was anchored by Angela King w/ weatherman Mark Coleman, who are both freelancing.
Really, the only full time on air talent NWCN had left was Cam Johnson. The staff really withered away over the last few years.
Angela King, who had a great decade long run at KCPQ, was an NWCN original, so it was nice to see her get the opportunity to close things down.

January 28th (early AM) and still no change to Charter ch 50. It has been a Charter-supplied bumper stating the channel has ceased transmission of its signal. Too dumb to put something new in that slot?
What about Comcast cable 2? Still blank? At least SOME station needs to take over, like CBUT, KVOS or KBTC (moving KBTC to 2 could put KVOS on its heritage ch 12).
