Expect the tejano format to pop up in the next 2 weeks on 105.3!
You see Mr Johnny? And you say im bad. :oldjohnny said:Yay, Univision will put Tejano on KPTI!!!! Give me a break. That signal is as useless as my 3rd wife! ;D jk
I'm Surprised Aleluya hasn't approached Univision with interest on KPTI.
(I am still holding very little hope for Party to end so they can hopefully start a Fiesta, shure do hope they don't invite Johnny Ramirez!;, ha, one can just day dream all day about a perfect Radio Dial in Houston, my oh my))
What ever did happen to the plans to move 105.3 out to Winnie? I think it was all a plan to have KAMA at the Missouri city antenna Farm. Anyone would like to help this fool remember the failed plan?

Let alone that they sold KRTX before KPTI puzzles me.purpledevil said:...and the one man tussle continues...
Johnny, last I heard regarding the KPTI upgrade and subsequent move from Crystal Beach to Winnie is pretty much dead. This was set into motion when Univision owned KRTX-FM at 100.7 and was going to move 100.7 to Lumberton, and 105.3 as a C2 to Winnie. A petition to deny was filed with the FCC from a man (can't remember his name) who has an application for a license to broadcast on 105.3 from Vinton, La. Couple this with the fact that Salem now owns 100.7 and would benefit in no way from a COL move of 100.7 and it looks pretty much kaput. I'm willing to bet CW would be able to go into specifics, or a quick check of some dated threads would be able to assist you further.
I agree with your thoughts about KPTI, Oldjohnny. With the way Aleluya is acquiring signals, and all of the CP's they have on file to build out translators at every possible freq. in the market, it is a surprise that stations like KPTI haven't been snatched up by them. Even more confounding is that Univision has held on to the Crystal Beach station this long.
That was hilarious! You know, I wonder if Univision would make a play for Roy Henderson's KTWL also on 105.3 considering that Univision is now under the limit with the recent sale of KRTX/Rosenberg? With a potential upgrade in the works for KPTI/Crystal Beach, and KTWL/Hempstead, seems like they would cover a lot of real estate between the 2 105.3 signals....stan said:I use 105.3 for my part 15 transmitter. I filed a complaint. ;D

It is far from back. KPTI has a very short stick in the middle of a sand dune. I guess Univision will try to get some local advertisers from Galveston.texano said:Oh yeah Tejano is back, lets see what happens. Now

KPTI does have an application to move in into the Beaumont Port Arthur area as a C2. If this happens, it will move further East. The station is closer to the Houston Market than other rimshots, but the signal has a hard enough time to reach Galveston. Imagine the signal it will put in Houston after the move. I'd say, Tejano has been downgraded instead of being back.
