Tejano rules!!!!

If Tejano is dead why does it have more and better ratings than Estereo Latino in San Antonio???

Or even a better question for you
If Tejano is NOT dead, then why has it been dropped in Houston, Dallas, El Paso, Amarillo, Bryan/College Station, Austin, San Angelo, Midland/Odessa?

San Antonio is just one of the only two cities that still has a Tejano audience, but that Audience has been declining since the 90's. The only reason it beats Estereo Latino is because of the competition. If you have noticed, the only thing that KXTN goes up against is the small locally owned KEDA. Estereo Latino goes up against BMP's duo of La Ley and KSAH. Trust me, KXTN is only the leader by default :D ;D ;D

Hey Stealing ur audience lets find out, lets post it and find out

post what? is this your way of calling me out mr tex mex? if so you didnt do a very good job at it. reggeetone, spanish, tejano, its all the same. i am curious now. has there ever been a market anywhere where a station was number one with a tejano spanish or whatever format? i doubt it. i could be wrong since there are people like mr tex mex who fail to move on from 1994. tejano is dead. hip hop is next. after that, maybe rock. so face it mr tex mex. you are just going to have to get another board op job at another station when the format eventually dies.

Oh yeah, plenty of markets. Houston has had KLTN #1 for a couple of years until recently. Los Angeles has also had KLVE #1 several times. Dallas is also on the list. El Paso, San Francisco, the list goes on. Except San Antonio because hispanics here are third -second generation.

The only Markets that I would consider "Tejano", the format has taken a beating as well. ie Corpus Christi, RGV. In the case of Corpus it still does ok though the way stations are surviving is adding Reg. Mex music into the mix. KXTN will never go any higher than 4.0-4.4 range because its core is just that and not more. It isn't a growning format. The analogy of the format could be like a station that had a large cume at one point and now the only listeners are its core P1 and nothing more. Same situation.
