Telemundo To Sign On Channel 67 in Columbia

Telemundo is bringing its lineup of talk shows, soccer matches and soap operas to Columbia as the city’s first over-the-air Spanish television network.

Stefanie Rein, owner of WBHQ LLC of Columbia, signed a five-year agreement with Telemundo to start airing shows on Aug. 6 on WNXG Channel 67. The network’s arrival in Columbia reflects the growing S.C. Hispanic population, which is one of the fastest in the nation.

OK that is all fine and dandy, but why would the be put on channel 67 when in under two years Feb 2009 that piece of the RF pie is going away!!! Looks like Google is wanting to big on that pie and unless they wind up on somebodies sub channel they will be gone from OTA and either be cable only or Digital subchannel only JMO... W36DL-D. They've got a permit for a digital operation on channel 36.
