What is the most inexpensive way to handle 4 rollover phone lines for a telephone talk show and also have a way to have the show on a delay so objectionable material for air could be controlled? What equipment is necessary and what does it cost?
That's sort of like 'how big is a fish'. Can't answer specifically till you catch it.
However.
Spend your money on a decent hybrid, Telos is the Gold Standard but there are other good ones out there.
A secondhand digital dely - early Eventide Clockworks - would work just fine. It will lack the fancies but do a workmanlike job.
Cheapest way to select lines is to use a key telephone and pull the tip and ring off the chaining switch.
I know this is not a sell your used gear forum (mods please delete if inappropriate) but I have a few items that may help you.
I have two Symetrix 610 delays that are in very good condition that I would like to sell. These units were replaced with newer Airtools units that delay closures.
I also have an ITT five line 1A2 Key System with two Comdial Five Button Key Sets and a Telos 1A2 Key System interface. This system was in good working order when it was replaced with a Telos Direct Interface Module due to an increase in the number of lines. Just add a control surface and a hybrid like a Telos One and you are in the phone call taking business.
I will entertain any reasonable offer. Send a private message if interested...
