Telethon Technical Problems?

I'm watching the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon on WCVB, and for some reason, the audio sound quality seems extremely bad. It sounds warbly, as if there were something wrong with the tape. But I don't see how that could be, since it's broadcast live. Is anyone else seeing this?

I am watching right this minute (I actually saw it from its start at 6:pMPDT) on KQCA-MY 58 and seems fine here. Maybe there is something wrong with WCVB's satellite hookup to the MDA TELETHON?

No Tampa, Florida coverage until tomorrow. WGNAmerica on one hour delay, to be bumped by the Cubs on Monday.

Online streaming is superb. Raw network feed. Jerry looks good compared to recent history. Ed McMahon is working the late night.

Checking the Bucket List of acts I have to see before I pass...hmmm
132A Eastern Frank Sinatra, JR and house band
140A Local cutaway. Networks shows the two Muppet Rats introducing John Cafferty and The Beaver brown Band....

Strangely enough, neither on my list, ....

WGN-A's okay, though apparently they can't make up their mind which software to use to display the phone numbers.

During the overnight, the telethon did seem to have both audio and continuity problems. Sometimes, people talking on cordless mikes sounded muffled, and segments, both recorded and live, seemed to get cut off a few seconds early.

John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band!

I caught maybe 5 minutes of the Telethon (which was about 5 minutes more than I caught last year) and that was Norm Crosby last night sometime (unless it was today..maybe I'm confused ::) )

Norm looked pretty good but much thinner than I recall. Didn't he have a stroke or something fairly recently?? I do think he crossed the line with his final joke about m-----bation. The telethon isn't really the time or place for that.

Are you sure this was Norm Crosby and not David Crosby? ;D

FOX 61 in Hartford was on a delay. When they switched from local coverage to national coverage sometime after 11PM Sunday (they started the telethon at 1045PM) I saw the same stuff I had seen on WGN at least 3 mins earlier.

The only thing that bothered me was the oversized blue background graphics of the local phone numbers and the bottom of the screen.they should of reduce the size or superimposed the graphics with a clear frosted background,Yea the old fokes will be fussing about they cant see the phone no#'s. I probably clocked 3+ hours total of the telethon, Jerry's segments look ok and sound ok . and Jerry him self look very good in health this year.

I watch it every year/ Not for the acts but for Jerry. He is laugh out loud funny sometmes when he doesn't intend to be. Like for example he ran the extended credits about a few hours before the final tote. He almost started singing his song and ending the telethon before his producers must have yelled at him. I couldn't stop laughing. I laughed for about five minutes. Poor Jerry!
