Telethon Tonight...

1. I know the big four (#4 Fox) are certainly a lock, as far as the others...

WB - probably
PBS - probably
UPN - unsure, they plugged the premiere of Friday Night Smackdown!
I (or Pax) - need to broadcast it because Palmetto Pointe and 90's network reruns aren't gonna cut it too much longer
Christian networks - unsure, TBN might if it's clean
Rest of the Indies - ShopNBC I guess, seeing as though they shut down like NBC did when the towers fell, don't know about America One, and the others

Any updates?

Tonight's Smackdown will be AFTER the telethon ..so Smackdown will be only an hour tonight with the first hour being shown on wwe.com

Thanks for the info. If anyone can read this, see if all your local over the air network stations carry this thing, and post back with details.

Also, there are some stations that will be carrying baseball tonight. In my area, our local WB station will is carrying the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees originated from UPN 9 out of NYC.

UPN 9 in NYC, UPN 59 in New Haven, and UPN 38 in Boston are all carrying the Yankees-Redsox Game.

I know for a fact that the "I" Network is carrying the telethon because they were scrolling it at the bottom of the screen last nite during Diagnois Murder, which I saw when I was flipping channels while the show I was watching on FOX was in commercials.

Plus BET is running their own Katrina telethon as well.

One question, did many of the same stations run the telethon for 9/11 victims also?

Re: Telethon Tonight...Hartford/New Haven

Here in New Britain, CT (southwest of Hartford), it was on 18 channels at once. Exceptions were WCTX-TV (UPN) channel 59 of New Haven. They were carrying the Yankees game from WWOR-TV. WRDM-LP (TEL), low-power channel 13 of Hartford, wasn't airing the show, as far as I know. I noticed how not one station had their bug in the corner. Thank you for that!

Same for WCTX-TV (UPN) channel 59 of New Haven, CT (Hartford market).

On Satellite, the usual suspects carried the hour long show, among the latin channels

Azteca America (by way of Azteca 13)
UnivisionE
UnivisionW
that is about it

When Diagnosis Murder had new episodes on CBS I believe it was popular because it was on for many years. Not sure if many people watch the nightly reruns on "I" aka PAX. About Diagnosis Murder

It was.

Was Univision's telethon presented in English or Spanish?

Was the telethon seen live on Univision's western feed? I thought all western feeds are delaying the coverage to 8PM PT?

I thought the telethon should have reflected the music of New Orleans and the South but with few examples it did not. It had poor production values as well. No connection between the movies personalities and the music performers. Not even sure they were all in the same country. Put together too hastly. And will Paul Simon PLEASE STOP SINGING. He is making Art Garfungle sound like Andrea Boccelli by comparison. He can still write but he cannot sing. Sad but true.

When that show ran on CBS I was always working and I never saw it or bothered to tape it. I was just curious if it was/is any good. Thanks, Jay! <P ID="signature">______________

It did NOT air on:
