What is at least one misconception you've had about television, whether it be about sets, talent, opening titles, or anything else?
One misconception I've had is that when I was a boy, I used to recall the production area at Studio 43 in New York for CBS Sports on The NFL Today having the title banner above it to have the same CBS The NFL Today title format that the opening billboard (voiced by the late Don Robertson) had (with "CBS" in the eyeball of the Eyemark).
Turns out, it actually didn't-- the title banner in Studio 43 (the part of the production area that had the name of what CBS Sports was doing at any particular time, usually seen in the background) actually had a simple, plain CBS Eyemark w/The NFL Today title (although the sponsor bumper graphic did have the CBS The NFL Today title format).
This was also the case w/The Prudential College Football Report w/Jim Nantz-- I thought the title banner at the production area had it as CBS College Football Report (or CBS College Football), in much the same manner as The NFL Today; turns out with that one that it also had a simple, plain Eyemark and College Football Report/College Football on the title banner.
However, "CBS" was in the eyeball of the Eyemark for Sports Saturday and Sports Sunday, but as I recall, that one was the only instance of such titling.
Attached are screencaps to explain everything I said (the NFL Today one is captured from a clip of the first half of the Giants/Bengals game of Week 6, uploaded by Richard Waldrup).
