Tell me about Saul Levine

Since I am not a resident of LA, I'm not familar with Saul Levine and his "format of the month", his rundown studios, etc.

Tell me a little history about the guy.

He sounds like a small-market operator in a big city.

How did he get started and when? Where did he get his money? Why the sudden and often format shifts?

Apparently, some of you have worked for him, and it was not the greatest experience of your lives :).

"Inquiring minds want to know", as the ad once said.

He is no Small Time Operator

Saul Levine is a frugal, somewhat eccentric Radio Group Operator, who enjoys what he has created over the Years, Wealth, much Wealth. Many Years ago it was possible for a single Man to own a Major Market Radio Station. Saul loves the attention, knows how to make a Profit, and will have the final Laugh when he sells his Mini Media Empire someday.

He recently sold his San Francisco station (which has been simulcasting the LA signal) for a cool $5 Million. Not bad for a low-power AM with a crappy signal. It officially changes hands next month.

Re: He is no Small Time Operator

Before we start pinning medals on Saul. He's
making the same mistakes with his new version
of Standards as he has in the past. Everything
KLAC did correctly, he screws up.
