.....when I heard "Jingle Bell Rock" on WROR-FM 105.7 about 20 minutes ago. Way too early. I guess I will begin my boycott of WROR and WODS earlier than usual this year. Granted, they aren't playing them 24/7, but October 10th is still too early to be playing holiday tunes. JMHO

A couple of days ago, I was listening to the "station" I had created for myself at Pandora.com. They played "The Marvelous Toy" (zip when it moved/pop when it stopped/whirrr when it stood still), which may not really be a Christmas song; I don't think it was written for that purpose, but in the last decade, it certainly has become associated with the Christmas genre. Anyhow, it really brought me up short. Kind of liked it in the mix but I'd hate to see too many more Christmas titles creep in this early.

Given weather forecast in places like Colorado (Phillies pitcher Pedro Martinez to pitch in the snow?) and Chicago,
it sure seems like the winter season is coming earlier than expected (but agreed re: Christmas music!) We'll see if
"Jingle Bells" or "Let it Snow" is sung during the seventh inning stretch of the Rockies-Phillies tilt tonight...

The game has been postponed due to the snow.

I believe Kool 101 in New London, CT had all New England stations beat... A couple of weeks ago, they gave away Beach Boys Christmas show tickets at the Mohegan Sun to the first listener who calls whenever they played "Little Saint Nick" or "The Man With All The Toys"...
