Tell me i'm not the only one

I'm sitting here with my USB TV tuner hooked up to my macbook pro, with it on the outdoor antenna, ready to capture the last few minutes of analog broadcasting from WAAY-TV in Huntsville. I feel like such a nerd

no idea when they're shutting it down for good, it started going on and off a few minutes ago and I'm now recording until midnight, while watching WHIQ until it goes off too

just watched WDEF 12 Chattaqnooga sign off of analog for good with a little history of WDEF segment, hoping WAAY does something similar, rather than just shut the transmitter off in the middle of the "warning you are not DTV ready" loop they've been running for two days

WAAY turned off their analog in the middle of the "warning" message.

Here is a better quality recording of the full WDEF-TV signoff:

Kudos to WDEF for putting together a retrospective piece prior to the signoff. Also, kudos to the station's management for having the fortitude to pull the plug on the money sucking analog transmitter early. Although, the last few seconds of on-air are hilarious in the context.
