Ten Atlanta personalities who switched formats (some thrived, some not so much)

The best in the group you mentioned are Chris Rude and Melissa Carter. She reminds me a bit of my former co-worker, Kari Dean from WPCH and WGST days. I think Ray has an upside on the Fan and could end up replacing Rude once he retires someday.

A lot of your country jocks worked in rock,Moby was on a rock station in Houston when he was hired by Kicks, even Mr.Country Music Rhubarb Jones worked in rock radio for a time.

IIRC Moby worked at WKDA* FM which became WKDF (Nashville) when it was AOR in the 1970's or early 1980s. Before that I think he worked at a daytimer in Nashville that played standards WAMB* ? (Non Rock late 1940's 1950's and early 1960's Pop tunes) And wasn't he a Shock Jock like The Regular Guys while in Dallas.

If I am correct, Moby did: Standards, AOR "stoned" in Nashville, Shock Jock in Dallas, and Country in Atlanta.

* There could be some confusion on my part, this was over 35 years ago.

Moby has said before that he was a shock jock in Houston,he cleaned up when he changed to country, because most country listeners are church goers.

Moby went from The Eagle in Dallas to KLOL-FM in Houston in the days before LOL meant anything. He came to Kicks from Houston. And although he did bomb on Z93, I've always felt Moby was a very talented personality.
