Teresa Brewer

You've probably heard this by now, but I haven't seen it posted here.

Teresa Brewer died yesterday, Oct 17, at age 76 from neuromuscular disease.

I've heard that name a lot on stations that play my kind of music. Not lately, though.

"Music Music Music" (Put another nickel in...); "Til I Waltz Again With You," "Ricochet Romance," "A Tear Fell," "A Sweet Old Fashioned Girl"
They've gotten away from playing most music from the '50s.

It seems to me "Music Music Music" may have been re-released around 1973. Anyone remember this? I don't know if it was the same version or a new recording.

I have seen "Music Music Music" (by Teresa Brewer) listed on a WOKY (Milwaukee) record survey from 1973. I can't say whether it was the original or a re-recording, but given that Teresa re-invented herself in the '70s as a jazz singer, I'd guess it was a re-recording.

The last time I heard a Teresa Brewer song on the radio was on CKWW Windsor/Detroit before they dropped Standards - that was years ago. (It was "A Tear Fell" - very nice but sad song.)

Funny thing about 1973... that was the year "Monster Mash" and "They're Coming To Take Me Away Ha Ha" were also re-released.

Interesting. I have an aircheck of 800 CKLW from the '90s when they were standards and on it they also played "A Tear Fell"
