Considering the lambasting Terilyn took for her look (big lacquered hair-do) and inapppropriate on-air manner (smiling during death and tragedy stories) during her time at KGO-TV, it was amazing that KNTV hired her in the first place. I think the station was still a secondary WB affiliate when they hired her. From everything I know, she wasn't well liked, then caught some bad publicity for her private behavior. She allegedly threw things out her window at construction workers making noise while working on a building across from her apartment. The construction company called it dangerous and made a big stink about it. I suspect KNTV considered all this a negative, and a major distraction at a time they had just become the NBC affiliate, and needed to build ratings and viewer loyalty. They were probably relieved to let her go.
Given the circumstances, and after being fired by both stations, it's not surprising that nobody else in the market would want to hire her.
