Terre Hate ratings

So, more of the same.

HI-99 wins, the River is up a little, Mix is a distant #2.

WIBQ is a boring sat talker that can't even have local news talent so they have it piped in from what their people in other markets steal from the local stations and paper web pages.

When is someone going to turn out the lights at Crossroads?

Now that I think about it I can see why no one has posted anything on the Terre Haute ratings.. it is the same as it has always been for the past.... what 20 years?

Nice to know that in Terre Haute the fight is still for who gets to be #2.

actually i paid a visit to the crossroads building a few weeks back and the lights were out. :D seriously, 9am on a weekday and all the lights in the lobby and offices were off. No need for them when there is almost no staff.

What can be said about crossroads that hasn't been already mentioned on this site, it's over and has been for some time. One word can sum it all up. SAD!

More like a battle for #3. Mix-FM has been #2 for the last ten (maybe more) consecutive books.

It really wasn't that bad of a book at Crossroads. WBOW-FM is 4th overall, which is more than they could have said a year ago. The Crock was up 50% over the year-ago period. Gotta have a sales staff to take advantage of this though.

ok, so we are dealing with 12+ numbers here and I doubt that the folks at Emmis are going to pass out all of the info and I think they are the only ones who bought it .... but.....

not a bad book for crossroads... ???

Mix is 2 and is less than half of HI-99
WBOW is half of mix.... thats not bad? and they are down from the previous book by about 2 and now 2.4 behind the River. For those not in the know.. WBOW is a 50kw big stick going up against WWVR which has a FLAME THROWING 3k.

and oh yeah the crock looked real good.. going from a 3 to a 1.4 and WAXI went from a 2 to a 1.4.

So when you add all of crossroads together.... AM'S .9 + WAXI 1.4 + WSDM 1.4+ WBOW 4.7 = 8.4 All of crossroads together beat The River ( in 3rd ) by .3 and even if you had the demo breakouts I don't think it would be that much different.

so I must agree with Radio Lover who called Crossroads Sad. There is some potential there at least with the BOW signal but they are proving they are just too stupid to know how to make it work.

How does WTHI continue to be so powerful with such poor processing. Do a flip from WTHI and WIXY in Champaign and compare. I was driving through last week and noticed this.

What is wrong with the processing? WTHI sounds pretty good to me, along with The River and The Valley - although not as loud. I think there are other "not so good" sounding stations in the market. Some stations, you can actually hear poorly sampled MP3 audio... And tonal quality suffers a bit on the other stations. Cant say what they are running, but sounds pretty clean and loud.

It was actually more the mic processing sounded muddy and muffled. Now as far as other stations in the TH market I am not familiar. They may sound far worse. I was just listening to stations I was familiar with since i was in the Danville, Il. market years ago. I was comparing country powerhouse to country powerhouse WTHI to WIXY.

I was never too crazy about the mic processing at Mix-FM, but I like everything else about the station. Like str8forward, I live a distance away from Terre Haute so I haven't had much of a chance to really listen to the class A offerings for years.

If you want to hear processing (mic and overall) all across the board, tune in to Lafayette radio. The WASK group, WBAA, and K-Love sound great with the right amount of punchiness for their respective formats, AFR's 90.7 is blasting (not in a good way), and Jeff 92, the LPs, and WIBN are very thin. Then there's AMP whose processing is kind of like their BOB format...you never know what to expect.

Seems like all the stations are using some variation of the 528 proc with their own flavor of mic on the front end. I think some stations are strait to the board with 635's or something. I have noticed the "BIG" sound of HI99's mics. Doesn't bother me. Probably depends on what typr of receiver you are listening to them with. At least the sound is consistent when you have differing talent behind the mic. Some talent on the dial can sound too thin, or very un-even when morning crew is interacting between themselves.
