TERRORIST ATTACK - Not covered in Providence

So I get up and go out in the living room. I see that WHDH Boston is airing Live Coverage of a Terroist Attack in London. 4 Explosions and at least 33 Killed. Then I turn on ABC 6 Providence. They are airing The View. NBC10 has an informercial on and WPRI is airing The Price Is Right. Then I tune into WBZ who is covering the attack and so is WCVB. Then I just shook my head and asked myself what the hell kind of crap is this? Boston cares about the attack and Providence doesn't? God forbid some little kid in Providence lights a match on his back porch, WPRI would have Copters flying over his head to cover it. NBC10 and ABC6 arn't any better today.

I'm just at a total loss for words why EVERY Boston station was covering the attack and why EVERY Providence station was pretending that it was just another Beautiful day in London! I'm left Speechless!

Now a half hour later Providence seems to have caught up. Apparently when there is Breaking News in the World, you are better off having access to stations in a Larger market who will bring you the News first.<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by Skynet74 on 07/07/05 03:47 PM.</FONT></P>
 
All coverage after 10am, from what I understand, is voluntary upon the stations. Should the nets break-in for a special report, however, stations must take the feed. I was surprised, however, that WJAR, a network O/O did not elect to take the extended "Today" coverage.
