I regret to inform you all of the passing of Terry Doyle. Some may remember him from his time at WDLA AM/FM in Walton. More recently, though, he was the producer and host of the 'Imprint' Radio Show, a weekly showcase of local and regional music from upstate NY "and points beyond". The show was carried on WUOW in Oneonta, WIOX in Roxbury, WRFI Watkins Glen/Ithaca, WGXC Accra/Hudson, and Geneva Community Radio. Additionally, he hosted a daily program called 'Crackle' for WIOX.
Terry suffered a heart attack a couple of weeks ago, and had been recovering in a Cooperstown hospital. He recently emailed his affiliates alerting them that production of a new "Imprint" program would be delayed until he made a full recovery. Then came the news of his passing. Thanks to Gary Wickham of WUOW for sending along this tragic news.
This is a huge loss for the upstate NY music community, and for all of the radio stations that carried his show. As station manager of Geneva Community Radio, I am proud to have worked with this man, and to have carried the 'Imprint' program right until the end.
He shall be missed.
