Im actually a WNDR alum. I was taught for 13years by George, Dave, OB, and proudly can say I worked as one of the last live announcers on WNDR. That crew of old boys (and Ladies) taught me a world of knowledge over that time.
Remember....one thing about being snowed in and cold. How in the world can we work so hard shoveling snow here but still smile?? The answer is we get to keep each other warm.
One other thing you can relate to snow, I have discovered over the years, is we have a lot of extra time indoors. Our local Musicians are some of the most talented you will hear (feel free to buy a flatface and the shemp dells (lol) cd from ubl.com and have a listen). The people that listen to, and pick music in radio, or for their own collections, have plenty of time to think about it. Which used to produce some good radio. I would love to see a big signal, like Y-94 for instance, hire knowledgable talent for air and go live 24/7, even 10-2 at night. Promote a "playing what we want to" format and keep the music from the same era. Wouldnt be much differant of a format if you (again the key here is...) hire the right people and let them free form it.
