Texas Museum of Broadcasting & Communications.

In my spare time, (if I actually had some) I've been working hard to establish a broadcasting museum in Texas. The good news is it looks like it will actually happen. We are closing on a building in downtown Kilgore sometime before November 15. It is a big building, almost 18,000 square feet. About 13,000 of that will eventually become a museum that is open to the public. There will be a lot to do once we close on the building. In it's original life, it was a 1950's style Chevrolet dealership, located a quick walk to restaurants and shops in the downtown area. Although the building is in reasonably good condition, lots of things will need to be done to get into code compliance and meet ADA requirements. It is going to be a long battle. I'm hoping it can be open, at least partially by late next spring. I was recently featured on The Texas Bucket List TV show. Their video gives a pretty good overview of what is going on. Assuming the board moderators are OK with it, here is a link to the video. If it needs to be deleted, just search for the show on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2pyY_ee1dI&feature=youtu.be

My word, Chuck. What an amazing collection of equipment! Best wishes in getting the museum open. You are a gem, my friend.

Thanks. It is going to be a lot of work to get this place up and running, but we have a good start. I'm hoping some other broadcasters and interested people will help make this a reality (Actually, some already have). I'd like it to be, if not the very best, one of the best museums of its kind anywhere. I might as well set my sites high. :)
