Texas Radio

Can someone verify what I heard came from texas?

"the point 106.9"
"legends 97"

there was too much QRM but did hear some what sounded like texas come in the FM
(I'm in Fort Walton Beach, FL)

thanks,
Rob

Lots of hot and humid weather along the Gulf coast right now, which enhances tropo conditions. Works both ways; Texas listeners are quite likely to hear Florida as well.

Well, they are kind of Houston stations. Both are northern rimshots targeting the Houston market. "Country Legends 97.1" is licensed to Cleveland, Texas as KTHT at 100kw. "106.9 The Point" is licensed to Conroe, Texas as KHPT at 100kw as well. Both stations are owned by Cox Radio. Speaking of catching signals in reverse from the east to the west, I have caught WDVW/La Place, La. "Mix 92.3" and WEZB/New Orleans "B 97" on two separate occasions last week. WEZB was very strange to me, considering that KTHT is the normal catch at 97.1 in this neck of the woods.
