"Text Sen. Voinovich While Driving" Ads Hit A Nerve

Local unions are being taken to task for the content of political radio ads for Sen. George Voinovich - namely, the part that urges listeners of the ad to send text messages to the Senator. Since most radio listening takes place in cars, mostly during drive times, the ads are coming udner scrutiny.

This is all silly political posturing. They should have suggested emailing him, not texting. Since Cleveland has lost a number of people over the years, I find that driving into downtown is not as bad as it used to be. Yet, I still use public transportation when I can as it saves money on gas and wear-and-tear on the car.
 
Only 43% of all market-wide "drive time" time spent listening is in cars.... and what about ads that say to "call now" that run a gazillion times a day? I think the PD is jealous that radio got the buy and they didn't.
