Now not only can you hear Thaddeus Mathews' ridiculous and irresponsible statements, you can watch him make them as well. Here's a direct quote from his blog (bad grammar and all):

"A video camera has been placed in the main studio of KWAM and starting tomorrow if we can get pass one little technical glitch my radio show, The Thaddeus Matthews Show will be streamed around the world live and in real time."

Webcam technology has made it all the way to the ghetto:

who needs the comedy channel when we have Thaddeus!

Well, THAT ruined breakfast...

Seriously, it’s only a matter of time before Thad gets himself, and the owners of KWAM sued as well as a license challenge. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened already.

That may happen sooner rather than later. If you watch the video feed, you will notice that he has a habit of holding down the cough button and using profanity (that would get him kicked off the air) for the benefit of those watching his show on the web cam. It's only a matter of time until his thumb slips or he forgets to push the button and one of those f-bombs flies out over the airwaves.

One of my most astute decisions as a former Flinn OPSMAN was to tell Thad, “Thanks, but no thanks.” It may not rise to Biblical-prophet category, but it still was a prescient judgment. Another was to bid the Flinn Group farewell.

I can't help but get the impression that the Flinn group is not exactly super popular.

very few love it...majority hate it.
But it's a little bit unfair.
Dr. Flinn is a very successful radiologist.

I go through more Windex cleaning the coffee spray off of my monitor after reading these posts....

Some of you really should try stand-up comedy. Or a radio talk show. I'd give it a listen! :p

Having been out of the market for a number of years, I don't know this guy named Thad...but he apparently knows how to stir things up. He's not the first.

Memphis has had its share of muck-rakers, hell-raisers and racism accusers. Sometimes they came in the form of rather colorful characters (see Prince Mongo). They have always made the conversations more lively, even if you thought they were full of it. Apparently this guy follows suit. Maxine Smith, Minerva Johnican, Isaac Richmond are names that come to mind. Frequently, they had valid points but sometimes their presentations left many people cold.

Is this guy similar? Such personalities have been terribly successful elsewhere.

Thaddeus doesn't have the broadcasting skills to pull this kind of show off. He just comes across like a racist idiot.

I'm surprised he brings in enough income to buy the time every month.

KWAM needs to just go all brokered like 1380 or 1600. They act like they are trying to be a legitimate talk station with Beck, Dave Ramsey and Dr. Laura but they will sell time to anyone who writes a check which is why they have blues music shows on Saturday afternoon and some kind of underground music show on Saturday night.

While I think WREC is an excellent mid market talk station, it is too bad they don't have some serious competition.

Brokered time. You mean if a dumb guy like me had the $$$ I could have my pick of three Memphis AMs to spout off nonsense or play records?

(Don't forget, I'm not a radio guy so this sounds almost worth wasting the money to have a little fun!)
