Thank you 92.5 The River

So, at 11:32 this morning, 92.5 the River was about to play "Mr. Big Stuff" when the CD started skipping. Now, yes, it's a technical issue, and the DJ (I don't know her name) came on apologizing, but the point I'm trying to make is that there at least is one station that still live and local on the weekends, and using CDs! Thank you, 92.5 the River, for restoring some confidence that there is still a heartbeat in the radio industry.

Are you referring to the Jean Knight song from the early 70s? Not my idea of AAA.
Must be some sort of specialty show.
I'm pretty sure they're automated/voicetracked at least part of the time.

It was their weekly "Brunch by the River" show, which specializes in blues, soul and early r&b. It's hosted by Lisa Garvey and I'm pretty sure it's live every week.

Overnights, they were automated for awhile. Most of the time they are live and local and even answer the studio phone. That wont happen with Ryan Seacrest on KISS.

I heard Ernie Boch's new single this morning on The River ::) Is he buying time in exchange for playing his song? It sounded like if Flash In The Pan got back together and started to play souless, white bread blues. I don't know that I can ever listen to River again, just in case that comes on again.

Don't give up on The River, Lucy :D

99 percent of what they put on the air is quite good, but nothing's perect ;o)

also from what i've heard, ernie used to play in punk bands 10 - 20 years ago and would show up to gigs as someone else so people didn't think he was ernie boch's kid.

I was shocked the guy could play. He's actually a decent guitar player.

Whoopeeee... Yes its a good station, so good that Silberberg simulcasts it on almost all his properties now. Not only that, but those repeaters don't even do a proper legal ID... You just hear The River imaging and calls. Nuts. Ya think Steve Silberberg has a one track mind or something? Reminds me of George Flinn (of Flinn Broadcasting) in Memphis, except that Dr. Flinn at least has different live formats on his stations.
