THANK YOU DIRECTV

Not often do our friends at DIRECTV get a kudo. But I wanted to thank them for providing the Hurricane Isaac Information Channel. I have visited New Orleans in the past, and was grateful to have them whip around the various local affiliates 24/7 coverage on this added channel. They are still showing it as of today and you get the local flavor that the networks don't offer. Kudos to WWL, WDSU, WVUE, and WGNO for top notch coverage in such a difficult time. My thoughts and prayers with those that are suffering with the storm's effects. It is on Channel 349 for those with DIRECTV systems.

Yes, they do this regularly with big storms and other national disasters.
It is greatly appreciated, especially when you have family living in Hurricane Alley.

I tried to watch WWL online, but the mention of Facebook and Twitter every 10 seconds was enough for me. WDSU provided COVERAGE, with a reporter, and not tweets.

I saw that channel yesterday at my parents house. But I was busy watching and recording on DVD the RNC Convention in Tampa. It hit hard, and they need to do more than work on the levees. It will come at a great cost, and probably involved making all the housing, and businesses on taller structures another words everything would be on the second floor instead of the ground floor, that is billions of dollars of work.
