Thank you WNED

News Radio 970 has carried the Judge Robert confirmation hearings virtually gavel to gavel, affording me the opportunity to gain a sense of the man who may well be Chief Justice of the Supreme Court for the next 35 years. I can't think of anything currently happening in the news that has the potential to affect our lives as much or for as long a period of time.

While WBEN blathered away with the "same-old, same-old", WNED has allowed us to hear our democratic process at work - warts and all in some cases. I want to thank WNED for recognizing the importance of this proceeding, and for covering the actual event. This way, we can evaluate Judge Roberts using our own perceptions, rather than relying on the news media to filter his responses through their own biases. Once again, thank you.

Mr. Wallack, before you feel the need to remind me, let me say that my contribution is already on the way.

Well said, Mr. Roxalot.

Count me as another listener who has checked in with WNED-AM during the last few days in order to keep abreast with the committee hearings. The point was well-made as to WBEN's lack of reporting, all the while posturing on the issues. WNED-AM, in my estimation, deserves more recognition for its timely and efficient service.

Now, if only they could somehow find a way to revive "The Connection," one of my favorite programs on WNED-AM, which was discontinued by WBUR in Boston.

Best regards,

Janos Surlikevich

Sir:

No matter how many times I search the data base, I am unable to find the name Roxalot!
