Hello all!! Just wanted to drop a line (or 50) to wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving!! Hopefully you are going to have a great day enjoying too much turkey and watching football. Have a slice of pie for me!! Anyway, I just want you to take a moment and be thankful that we get to do what we do for a living (those of us currently working anyway...if you aren't currently employed, I hope you become employed very soon). My list:
1. I'm thankful for coffee, which helps me get thru the show...
2. I'm thankful for celebrities, whose stupidity and antics provide me with great material...
3. I'm thankful for VoxPro, which helps me get a phone call ready to air faster than any other system out there...
4. I'm thankful for my friends in radio, who've listened to me brag, bitch, and complain about the radio business for all of these years...
5. I'm thankful for Arbitron, who...uh...scratch that. Eff them.
6. I'm thankful for the internet, which helps me waste time (but only at home, because I wouldn't dream of wasting the company's time at work!)
7. I'm thankful for the opprtunity to have my voice heard every day on the radio...
8. I'm thankful for my management, who picked up the 2009 option on my contract (still employed! Woo Hoo!!)
9. I'm thankful for listeners, who aside from constantly asking for free stuff, make me feel like I chose the right profession in life...
10. Finally, I'm thankful for my wife and kids, who've put up with so much crap involved with me and what I do for a living, I'm surprised are still with me!! LOL!
