Thanks for powering up. Now are you ready for a BEAT DOWN?!

The more I listen to Power the more I am disappointed. They have an enormous amount of potential to take down the beat but music-wise... I dont see it happening.

Wait Romeo..... are you speaking on behalf of Power or The Beat???

Cuz Power's sounding really good. It's about time SA got a REAL Hip Hop station. After all, your station did play Gwen Stephanie's Hollaback Girl and Fergie's London Bridge. Yeah, some impressive Hip Hop station (or Top 40).

Of course now that Power is here, I have no doubt you have already changed all of your music logs to actually reflect the format you claim to be and you'll start being the Hip Hop station you should've been for the last 3 years.

I'm talking about the BEAT DOWN that power will get over the next 12 months...mark my words...by next fall...the power will be off!!

By the way....Hollaback Girl and London Bridge are what the BEAT LISTENERS wanted to hear at that time..so that's what we played...that's what we do...play what the BEAT LISTENERS want...that's one of the many reasons the Beat has been on top for 6 years.

But, i'm sure you wouldn't know about that, since you work WHERE again???

The reason power may sound good to you is because all they did was take the Beat's playlist and smack it on 106.7...anyone can tell you that.

I am ready to prove that we have the best TEAM in the country at 98.5 The Beat, R&R's Rhythmic CHR Station of the Year!!

But, i'm sure you wouldn't know about that, since you work WHERE again???

Haha. I work for radio in Dallas, you know the #5 market in the country... So I know a little something about what listeners want. And up here, our Hip Hop stations don't play Top 40 either.

You wish you could run out Power but it's not going to happen. But keep telling yourself it will.....

Doubt it. Life span for most formats on 106.7 is usually 2-3 yrs.

Most Hip Hop/R&B stations throughout the country did the samething.

I disagree. Cox got the hottest Hip Hop tracks and added them to Power. Although, as you and most peeps in S.A. will soon find out how overplayed these tracks will soon be. Power will have an impact in S.A. but I still see The Beat ruling the airwaves.

wow romeo you are pretty confident and cocky. that makes you ripe for a beat down.

and no not all hip hop stations played gwen stefani, fergie, rihanna and other top 40 artists. nice try though. i don't hear nelly furtato on power either. or pussycat dolls. thats crap the beat has played in the past.

i work the drive thru at mcdonalds if you are wondering. i don't work at a radio station.

I love hearing Radio wars
;D

First of all gtb0014, glad to hear you know what your listeners in Dallas want to hear. However, the rest of the country in larger markets beg to differ.

Both Powers in New York and L.A. including Hot also in New York, you know #1 and #2 markets play- Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Nelly Furtado, and The Pussycat Dolls. The same could be said in other markets such as Houston- The Box 97.9 and Austin- Hot 93.3. All these stations call themselves Hip Hop or Hip Hop/R&B.

In all honesty, does it really matter? NO!!

I've never heard J.T. on 97-9 The Box. Ever. But that's fine, and you're right, it is a different market. I'm just glad DFW has stations that are true to their format. I hear everyone posting on the SA board that they want XM radio BECAUSE of the dissatisfaction in that market.

well 93.7, 97.9, and 104.5 are the dallas hip hop stations and they sound nothing like the beat. im hoping POWER sounds like 97.9 or 93.7......the beat sounds alot like 106.7 in dallas with all the hispanic jocks ...that station is not bad tho they just aint doing hip hop like the other 3
