HD PULLED OFF THE IMPOSSIBLE. THEY'VE MANAGED TO ADD MORE RADIO STATIONS TO AN ALREADY impossible OVER CROWED MARKET. Isn't this the lesson GM is learning now. More isn't better, it actually makes you and your brands weaker. A Chevrolet dealer on every corner, ya right, it forces everyone to starve!

Unless Mr. Barack Hussein Obama fires John Hogan and tell's Clear Channel to turn off the analog's, radio has a monster on it's hands. In the grand plan analogs are going away anyway, but that's years down the road. Hopefully Global Warming will get us all by then. In the mean time, buy one Chevrolet and get the second free!
Or buy a Chevrolet and get a Chrysler\Fiat Free!

If Chrysler's gonna be owned by Fix-It-Again-Tony, how about this for a "factory incentive?"

Buy a Dodge - get a Maserati free!!

(iBiquity could merge with Studebaker....could be a lotta synergies there....) :D

"This post brought to you by....Dodge Trucks. Remember, all smart people Dodge Trucks!!" ;)

I'm sick of all this negative talk about a Chrysler/Fiat alliance being a disaster. It could just work.

After all, look how well things went when AMC and Renault joined forces. Oh, wait! Never mind. :)

The mind reels with possibilities: Hotpoint-iBiquity! Admiral-iBiquity! AIG-iBiquity! Heathkit-iBiquity! :D

As Mitt Romney's dad, George, chairman of AMC and later Michigan's governor and a presidential candidate observed watching the disastrous 1950s mergers of Kaiser-Willys and Packard-Studebaker: what do you get when two money-losing companies merge?

(A bigger company that loses money twice as fast.)

So...whaddya think? "Peugeot-iBiquity" has a kind of continental ring. Obama would like it.

Obama needs to take over iBiquity, the way he took over GM. That way, his Democrat controlled congress can pass laws saying everybody has to buy a Chevrolet - other models are illegal - and everybody has to buy an HD radio - non-HD models are illegal.

Well, if iBiquity is hemorrhaging money (and supposedly they are) then they may have to merge to stay afloat. An odd duck technology like IBOC deserves an odd duck pairing (like Kelvinator-Nash).

Those are all great names. I especially like the idea of resurrecting a dead brand like Admiral and pairing it with HD Radio. Yes, the mind reels.

I would argue "Admiral ain't any deader than HD Radio, sir." rbruce - bite your tongue. Jeez, don't even suggest it. That's ALL the radio industry needs: top-down government force applied to manhandle the "transition to all-digital." Can you imagine? Some DC policy wonk, with the stroke of his stupid pen, obsoletes something like one BILLION perfectly serviceable analog AM & FM radios.

It would be the end of radio as we know it. Kind of like the Armageddon being visited on Detroit, banking and insurance. Precisely the kind of boneheaded crazy crap coming out of politicians these days.

Let's resurrect the "Madman" Muntz brand and pair THAT with HD radio. I can't think of a more perfect fit:

Well, iBiquity is half way there--they've got the "madman" part. "I'd give HD Radio away, but my stockholders won't let me."

How about a Gonset/Ibiquity combo? Gonset being the manufacturer of the "Gooney Box" or "Gooney Bird" FM set. It was an ungainly, frankly, ugly box of radio.

Four crystal controlled channels of sheer HD bliss.
