Thanks, iHeart for this brilliant programming decision

Unbelievably stupid decision on the part of KBME. Pallilo was by far the most intelligent personality on Houston SportsTalk radio. Innes is beyond awful.

Must have been sudden, as everything seemed normal on Pallilo's show Friday, Sept. 30.

I've listened to Pallilo for almost 30 years on his various radio gigs here in Houston, and always enjoyed his intellectual, no nonsense approach. I suspect he will pop up elsewhere in the market. KGOW or KFNC would be smart to grab him to replace the horrible local hosts they currently have. And 610 might even bury the hatchet to get him back.

It's getting to the point where I am almost completely done with Houston radio.

The fact that a craven moron like Innes is coming back is just more proof that Houston IHeart radio is in the toilet. What's worse, Innes will come in with the attitude that he can get away with anything, which, is apparently true. Bryan Erickson has just proven beyond a doubt that he's as big a moron as Innes.

If you think he was awful and hateful when he was here the first time, wait till you hear him when he returns. He will PO everybody in town, and I predict he'll get fired again at some point and take Erickson down with him.

Don't cry for Charlie though. I've known him since he started at KTRH years ago, and he's a classy guy with an encyclopedic knowledge of all things sports. What he doesn't know about sports isn't worth knowing, and he'll land on his feet somewhere. I'm betting he's glad to see IHeart in his rear view mirror.

In my opinion, Charlie Pallilo was the best broadcaster in all of Houston, at least going back to 2004 when he did the Astros post game show on KTRH 740AM.

I'm convinced he will pop up somewhere in Houston, and soon.

Yeppers, Houston Radio and TV is very, very crappy.
Don't watch it.
Don't listen to it.....
Where is the EPA for reporting pollution on the air-waves?....SAVVY!!

What's really perverted here is that we know the kind of "personality" Innes put on the air in his first go-round at KILT, and we know that he can be expected to double and even triple down when he returns. He will continue to be offensive, abrasive and obnoxious, and he'll have the highest ratings in town. People will tune in wondering what outrageous thing he'll say and who he'll offend today. And he won't disappoint them. That's what sports radio has become.

There's more to the Charlie Pallilo decision than meets the eye.

You and joe seem to find a conspiracy theory out of everything that happens. People get moved around all the time.

Back when Univision had their own forum pages we used to call certain usernames (PELUCAS) which means WIGS in Spanish.

I think this is gonna be AWESOME! I am not a sports fan, so I spend very little time w/ sports radio-but think that INNES is hell of a talent. With the correct guidance and management, he could become a giant, IMHO.

Not likely. If he's done nothing else, Innes has proven he cannot be "guided" or "managed". He does what he pleases and his "managers" can put their "guidance" where the sun doesn't shine.

Isn't that what people want in a talk show host? If he did what corporate wanted, he'd just be another corporate clone. You'd complain about that.

You seem to be saying radio talk hosts should have no boundaries, and should be free to insult and ridicule anybody they want. Innes has learned that there are boundaries, and while they vary from station to station, most of the time they are drawn by the station's advertisers, especially those with the biggest ad accounts. They have more power over content than anybody.

I read that as meaning talk show hosts should be allowed to do their thing without boundaries. If that's not what you meant, what exactly does it mean?

When I said "people," I meant listeners, not management. Listeners like talk show hosts who defy management. Management knows what they're getting here, and they're not hiring him to be co-operative and a kiss-up.
