"Thanks" WBZ for a horrible intermittent internet stream...

It never fails; at least once a week the BZ stream goes down...For those of us who can't listen to the whole show on the radio, this is the only other option, and a poor one at that.

I suppose I may be able to re-connect is I were home to do that, but some of us have to work or keep other schedules...

This morning was Rob's last show with Steve & I wanted to keep it as a memento, but the stream dropped 2.5 hr. into the show.

Great job, CBS...keep up the great work. nothing like providing quality to the listener...

Are you using the StreamTheWorld stream page? The stream will "fall asleep" after a period of inactivity.

My suggestion: Plug the M3U link into your media player, set it, and forget it.

I will try that webpage. Currently I am using a FF plugin that will not fall asleep, but if the stream gets interrupted for some reason it will not reconnect. Winamp will reconnect, but that pgm. is soooo buggy lately that I have given up on using it.

Which media player are you using for the M3U link?

Ugh, Real player.
uninstall that asap and download Windows Media Player Classic.
Much faster, resource use is minimal.
Actually, I like Screamer Radio, which has a compressor (though only mild) option!

Have you guys thought of using the CBS Radio Player? It usually works pretty well.

My experience with the CBS Radio Player is that it bumps you off unless you click the "would you like to stay connected" button...

My issue is that I want to record while I am away from the pc for several hrs., so I am not there to reconnect when the stream gets lost.

As I mentioned, I do know that Winamp will reconnect, using extra software, but the pgm. is so very buggy that I have given up on using it.

Friday afternoon, all CBS radio station streams died for about an hour - music, news, sports, everything nationwide regardless of station location or format. AOL Radio streams worked perfectly during this time, however.

Since when is simply toggling the "repeat" button on the Winamp player considered "extra software"?

@Karson - Have you tried System Scheduler? It's what I use to trigger the playlists for my radio station.
