THANKSGIVING; WHICH STATIONS ARE MIXING THINGS UP FOR THE HOLIDAY?

Of course BLAZIN 92.3 in Macon, GA will be in the mix as always! "Mixgiving Weekend" is what they usually call it.

You mean mix weekends still exist?

I'm sure L.A.'s Power 106 will be doing it as usual... over 15 years strong, supplying that true party feel on a daily basis.

They already mix:

6.45am
7.45am
8.45am

12.00 party mix

The new @ 2 mix (1 hour long, 2pm)
The 3-7pm mix

I believe there's one from 9-11 at night, and that is just the weekdays.

I think I may be in L.A. next week, by the way.

Wow, a mixshow throughout the entire workday? BTW, is POWER still not supporting West Coast rap?

We'll have 42 hours of mix shows between Wed 11/24 and Sunday 11/28 on WSNX.

Schedule is here: http://www.wsnx.com/pages/snxmixers.html

Now THAT is a party station!

By the way, that list above was Power 106's REGULAR weekday programming schedule.

I think the reason they don't support west coast rap is because they are rhythmic and most of the west coast rappers aren't making hits the same way east coast rappers are. Since east coast rappers do make it to radio play, it seems like the east coast is more supportive of their artists because their songs are played. On the west coast, it looks like west coast artists aren't getting supported since many west coasters aren't making top charting radio hits.

How about HOT 107.9?

I didn't remember mixing last year because I streamed from SC. As a matter of fact they didn't. As of lately, they only do a mega mix on New Years, Memorial, July 4th and Labor Day weekends.

Shawty, at least Hot does that. Our two hip hop stations have been nothing, but the same ol' regular programming lately.

Alright, Power 106 REGULAR mixshow schedule:

Mixing Schedule
Mon-Fri, 5A-10A - Mickey Fickey Mix on the :40's

12:00 Power Party Mix at Noon

New @ 2 (1 hour new music mix 2pm)

Eric D-Lux in the Mix, 3-7PM

Power 7@7 Mixdown (Top 7 at 7 mixed)

Friday 10AM - S... Cali Mix Weekend

No mixshows throuhgout Thanksgiving Day and Saturday during the day???

Thanksgiving Day is not really a time most people think about partying. For most people it's a time to spend with family...not partying. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with partying during the day on Thanksgiving; it's just that's not really what people are thinking about. The party music would probably go against what Thanksgiving is supposed to be about. That's probably why they're not doing it on Thanksgiving Day.

As far Saturday during the day, good question! It's something they could do. I'd listen if I were in town! (I live in the Grand Rapids area - often listening to WSNX - and will be out of town all weekend.)

A Thanksgiving Day Mix isn't a bad idea. It'll keep folks jammin while stuck in the kitchen cooking and im sure tons of parties will go on that night (atleast from the promos on radio here in ATL).

As stated, BLAZIN' 92.3 (A Cumulus Station) outta Macon, GA has already jumped off the "Turkey Day Weekend Mixdown"
http://player.cumulusstreaming.com/SLPLayer.aspx?WLZN-FM

HOT 97 New York has jumped off the "Thanksgiving All Mix Weekend" too!
http://www.hot97.com/HotStream/

I've been listening to V-103 in Atlanta most of the weekend. They were mixing throughout the Thanksgiving day with 1-2 hour mixing intervals starting in the midday, 5PM-7PM, and then it started non-stop around 9PM until 3AM (Friday morning). This weekend it has been mixing during its normal times 12PM, 5PM, & 9PM on into the overnights.

power 106s mixing from 3pm-7pm why ???

females dont like mixes

Yeah, most females tend not to enjoy mixing at all over-the-air. They just want to hear the entire song(s) or hear it in the clubs themselves.
