Thanksgiving with the Dickeys

Like him or hate him, Joe's columns are pretty accurate. 2010 will be very scary for Citadel, CLear Channel, and Cumulus.
 
...And every other operator who's plan was to exit that hasn't! There are some that missed the boat 3 years ago and are stuck continuing to operate in a down economy when they thought they would be "on a beach somewhere collecting 10%". Sale prices are going to be consistently low as lenders are looking for low entry points to reduce risk. Some, like Saga and Bonneville are solid and will weather the storm well. The others that have over budensome debt will collapse and perpetuate the death spiral that is broadcasting today.

I'll have my slingshot ready to aim turkey and ham at Lew Dickey! I'll have Ole Jed Clampett, and Ellie May there to, with some good southern bluegrass music to boot! Ole Jed can run Cumulus better than Lew!
 
I'd go so far as saying Jethro could run it better than Mr. Dickey! I reckon' so!
 
A child could run Cumulus better than Lew. His time is up. Their extended line of credit is about to run out.

Big things WILL happen with them, Citadel, and Clear Channel next year. Just watch.
 
Looks like Clear Channel will be saved by their outdoors division. Patially anyway. IF the economy turns in time, they might hang on until August '10. Citadel? Goodnight, put a fork in it. Jan, 15th is coming up fast with no help in sight.
