That Girl on TV Land

Who else is enjoying TV Land's That Girl marathon? Definately a nice change, forgot what a good show it was. They haven't shown anything this good in a long time!

But why are they repeating the same episodes 12 hours later?

Oh well, it's a lot better than the typical weekend full-o-westerns.
What is with TV Land's Bonanza/Gunsmoke fetish anyway?

...I think CBS owns syndication rights to at least part of "Bonanza" and all of "Gunsmoke." CBS, through its absorbing King World into their syndication unit, also owns "Branded" and "The Guns of Will Sonnett," both of which I haven't seen on cable *ever*. I wish TV Land would run those two shows, but the first-season DVD set of "Branded" was made from the same atrociously-kept 16mm duplication films that I used to see on WFAA/8 in Dallas a few years back, so I wonder if the negatives are perhaps missing for that one. "The Guns of Will Sonnett" had been an Aaron Spelling item (his first co-production with Danny Thomas, IIRC), so I'd be surprised if *those* negatives were also missing. Or maybe CBS just doesn't want to go through the expense of sprucing up those two...

Some of the early Bonanza episodes were made at Paramount while later episodes of the show were made at Warner Brothers because when they aired the early 70's episodes of the show in reruns they showed the Warner Brothers logo at the end.

In the mid 80's, CBN and local stations started back up with reruns of Branded and The Guns Of Will Sonnett after for years not being in syndication(it aired very briefly in reruns during the late 60's and early 70's during the summer months), and I think reruns of the shows are still being seen today and mostly air during the early morning hours to fill gaps in timeslots.

They're apparently running uncut episodes but also are front- back- and in-loading commercials to the max. So, you ask, what else is new?
