Do any of you remember that stupid idiot that did news on KLIF in the morning a few years ago named Josh? I'm talking about the dumb A** that used to use the Amber alert sounder during his news cast when he would do something that he considered a funny story. I don't think that that sounder should ever be used for anything accept alerting the public of a missing child. I was blown away that the PD allowed that to happen over there.
 
I wish they would stop using Amber alerts period. They make it sound like the country is under attack or that there is a major tornado or natural disaster happening. It's too loud for one missing child. Parents are stupid.

Wow... Would you still be saying that if one of your kids went missing or got kidnapped?
 
Forgive me, I meant that when in fact a child is missing they make it sound like something really really bad is happening. Like a natural disaster or nuclear attack. I don't mean the kids any harm by any means but do something else that isn't going to send people in panic. [EDIT] Sheesh...

What kind of an idiot questions "Amber Alert" ? It has been the most effective way of finding missing children ever used by the media. If you had any children you would understand that a missing child IS the most important thing to hear/worry about.... [EDIT]

Good grief, how insensitive! You didn’t answer my question either. Your grievance would be better served towards those annoying EAS tests that are far more common than Amber Alerts. AA’s have a purpose, a very important one. Not only can they help find missing children, they also serve as deterrents against would-be child predators / molesters.
 
The only problem that I have with the Amber plan is that we should have had it years ago. I just couldn't believe that the management over at KLIF would allow that sounder to be used for any other purpose. The Josh idiot didn't last all that long, however I heard the Amber sounder quite a few times as part of the news cast. Does anyone know the story behind why that was used and why KLIF powers allowed it to happen?
 
The mere fact that anyone is actually bitching about an Amber Alert (need I remind you the travesty of how this country got an Amber [Haggerman] Alert in the first place) is ridiculous, damn near shameful.

I believe it isnt the fact there is an alert system(which is excellent) its the air raid-type sounder used for said process. Id rather that be saved from a REAL emergency (Severe Weather, Natural Disaster,Terrorist/Alien Attack, Return of Jesus Christ, ect...). Perhaps a new sounder could be created that sounds similar to whats used for a breaking news alert or even simply "This Is A Amber Alert Notice" by a synth generated voice.

Thank you. Thats what I was getting at. Now the whole board hates me just because i said something similar. I appreciate all the insults directed at me due to my opinion on the matter. Feels good being an internet bad ass doesn't it?

Looks like he should try to be a "Knows How To Use Clearasil" genius. He certainly thinks a lot of himself. Which I guess a person should do, if no one else does.

Using the Amber Alert sounder is just deplorable. Period.
 
Looks like another case of people who severely overestimate their own importance. I barely remember this yahoo from when he was on KLIF. Beyond the hyperbole and self-adulation on the website there's little evidence of common sense, people skills or decency. "Inside the Mind of Spiegel"? No thanks, I'll pass.

"Agreeance" by Slambang is hardly vindication. Your statement that the Amber Alert is too loud for one missing child is still moronic.
 
To sum up Ozzy is wrong,and he can always turn of fthe radio or switch stations if the sound annoys him. As for the parents, relatives, love ones of a missing person,its a sign someone cares and wishes for the safety of their missing person.

With that one paragraph, you trashed the whole Amber Alert system, and then added insult to injury by calling parents stupid. Gosh, I hope Amber’s parents don't visit this board! Slambang merely suggested a minor change, but still supports the Amber Alert system overall.
