That no-name station now has a name

I caught this late Monday night. The station that says Rockn'Roll hits of the 60's and 70's or just says 97.1 WRQQ now has a new name. It is now Classic Hits 97.1.

This seems like a repositioning to me. How early in the month do they have an idea of what their ranking in the ratings book for the month may be?

It's about time!!!

I think they sound like they are a station broadcasting in market 369?* They sound horrible. Thank goodness they
have no advertising, so they don't have to stop the music, which is decent. Dead air, nothing at all memorable about
the new name or imaging. I love the fact they it sounds like they are saying Classic Hits 97.1 from across the hallway.
C'mon guys. How hard is it? What ever happened to the in house mole over there that was sending out all the memo's?
Surely, he can tell us why this station is doomed. Cursed frequency? Crumulus' attempt at bad radio must stay 100% intact?
Chance to help increase Rock's numbers while competing against them??? What the highway to hell is going on? They
should call if Yawnfest97.1.

*no slight against Mkt. 369, I am sure you sound better than this.

I think it is interesting that their cluster sales department's website still has the Oldies 97.1 logo in some spots and in places refers to the station's identity as still being an Oldies station. Looks to me like the sales staff is trying to hide the station's true identity from the advertisers. It's pretty bad when sales people are too embarrassed to admit what their station is.

(But not to point a finger at just one cluster, last time I looked, the Citadel website still refers to one of their Nashville stations as Rockin' Hits 104.5, complete with logo.)

jet ---

Why should you be surprised that these websites are not updated?

These companies are known for not believing in advertising.

It costs to much.

How's this for id suggestion sound?

W--- Badlettsville/Nashville
Classic Hits 97.1
Another Crumulus Stupidstation - helping drive listeners to WNRQ Nashville ... and not good enough for Steve
