That SPCA Commercial

I am so sick of that SPCA commercial with that Sarah McLaughlin (Sp?) song playing throughout. Every time I see the commercial (and most of the time it's on Nick at Nite) it makes me want to cry. I don't understand why anyone would want to hurt an animal. I love animals. I would hurt anyone who hurt an animal (especially the cute little cat that belongs to my mom and dad).

That commercial is for the A.S.P.C.A., which does good work. But to make a difference in your own local areas, why not donate to your LOCAL S.P.C.A. They are ones that are truly in need of your support. Remember, think Global, and Act Local.

I haven't seen the commerical yet but I have a feeling why its getting aired. The recent rise of people hurting/killing their pets. My brother-in-law works for a local police department in Maryland and he was telling me the other day that within the past 6 months they had six cases of animal abuse such as the man who shot and killed his four cats in front of his three kids. Why? He had just lost his job and felt he could no longer afford them but why did he felt he had to shoot them..and in front of his kids? Then there was a case where a man got mad at his live-in girlfriend so what does he do? He stabs her dog to death. SICK ! !

Then there was that Colorado woman who couldn't afford taking her sick dog to the vet so she shoots her dog to death. Same state some psycho woman sets her cat on fire. A few days later the cat dies. Seems there is not a week that goes by where some sicko kills or seriously hurts their own pets. I know these are tough times for many but why take it out on your pets?

Man was given dominion and stewardship over our fellow creatures. That does NOT mean we are to kill and otherwise abuse them. I believe there is a special place in hell set aside for people like you mentioned Marc.

Actually I think it was the dog that was set on fire & later died. not the cat.

That may have been a seperate story.

The one I remember reading in the Rocky Mountain News recently was that of a Greeley woman ( may have been Fort Collins ) who had a dog that was very sick but was unable to afford the vet ( many vets allow people to make payments if they can't afford to pay the bill in full ) so she decided to shoot her dog to death. The police showed up and found the woman crying at her doorstep and despite her story she was arrested anyway.

The cat on fire....I remember this on KUSA channel 9. The cat lived for a few days and a group of local folks got together and raised money to help save that cat but sadly due to the burns the cat died anyway. Come to think of it I am pretty sure one of the Denver paper actually ran a pic of the injured cat. I think it was named Bobo or something similar to that.
