That time of year....

Finally, some DX conditions:

Driving from New London to New Haven last night, most of the NYC FM's were coming in as locals. Yes, you usually pick them up closer to New Haven, but 95.5, 100.3, 106.7, even 101.1 were coming in pretty well.

Anyone else notice? I'm assuming the warm humid airmass (one of the only ones this year to date) is creating the favorable conditions.

I have to check.101.1 is washout due to kc101,100.3 is again a washout due to WRCH.95.5 is blowned away becuase of KISS.This is in Wallingford. But I will get 106.7 over here sometimes.also I pickup
Atlantic Citys NJ WPUR 107.3 in stereo if somebodies Ipod caster is not tuned to that freq.Sometimes Bostons WAAF comes in the mix,but more of WPUR.

I usually get 103.5, 106.7 and 97.1 well under normal conditions here in Branford. Others usually fight with the locals as you mentioned above. Last night was different though.

I haven't received anything in terms of e-skip in New Britain this year, whether it be New York or the Cape, OR from 1,000 miles away. I get a faint signal of WQHT-FM 97.1 (HOT 97) at times here, but not usually strong enough to listen to outside of a few minutes.

I noticed WBLM overpowering WDRC-FM on I-84 in Ashford the other night..... That seems to happen quite a bit, though...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 'BLM is a huge 100kw signal, no?
I'm assuming it happens mostly when you're on the north/east side of some of those big hills on 84.

I noticed something, but I didn't try FM, I was getting things on TV that surprised me as I normally get JUST the following:

(RF channel listed)

20 - WTXX
22 - WGBY
26 - WHPX
31 - WTIC
33 - WFSB
35 - WVIT
40 - WGGB
45 - WEDH
46 - WUVN
(note: I don't get enough signal from WTNH or WWLP to lock)
and analog:
38 - WHCT
48 - WRNT
50 - WRDM

Last night and even as late as 8am this morning, I was actually getting signals from what I suspect are Boston/Providence, but there are some channels that are NYC/LI area, so I just don't know:

07 - WABC? WHDH? no lock
09 - WEDN
11 - WWLP
12 - WNAC? no lock
13 - WPRI? WNET? - no lock
17 - WPXQ? no lock
19 - WGBH? no lock
21 - WLIW? WSBE? no lock
24 - WNYE? no lock
25 - WNNE? no lock (why not? got it analog before)
29 - WUNI (now stands as my farthest catch) DT1 was Univision, DT2 had an infomercial, dunno what they run otherwise
30 - WBZ? WFUT?
39 - WCTX? WSBK? no lock
42 - WHDH? WSAH? no lock

Nothing on 51, which could have validated Providence, though with WUNI, I'm pretty sure that it's the Boston/Providence market that was coming in, having something on channel 24 throws me off though.
