That's Interesting....NOT!

Anyone else catch Glenn Beck's half hour rambling yesterday on KT'R? Seems radio's newest multi-millionaire recounted in vivid detail his Thanksgiving childhood trip to Grandma's house in his parents Chrysler Town & Country station wagon. He went on, and on, and on, and on. Meanwhile Nurse Jeff and I heard radio dials being tuned off 92~Three in record numbers as this story turned into a half hour snoozefest during a very important daypart. Is this normal for Beck to go off the deep end, or just a one time deal??

Anyone else catch Dr. Akbar's half hour rambling yesterday on his favorite message board? Seems the kfyi's oldest board op recounted in vivid detail listening to Glenn beck yesterday. He went on, and on, and on, and on. Meanwhile Nurse Jeff and the Dr. were the only ones listening to ktar at the time and seems to be the only ones who care. Is this normal for Dr. Akbar to go off the deep end, or just a one time deal??

I started to read Dr.'s rant..b u t..f e l l a s l e ...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

As a HUGE fan of the Chrysler Town & Country station wagon, I was enthralled with Beck's story. I finally tuned out when I realized Beck wouldn't confirm faux wood on the famed wagon (it killed the whole story for me). Granted, he didn't talk about the '76 AMC Gremlin with the Levi's trim, but it was still riveting radio.

Given that we both share a passion for vintage automobiles, I find your lack of empathy for Beck's story distressing. :(

The Nurse and I can't believe we wasted a half hour listening to a story that really had no point at all. But then again, a lot of things on KT'R don't have a point so I guess we got what we deserved. (perhaps RadioPro will ask us to elaborate  )

We mean no disrespect to the mighty Chrysler T&C with it's fine torsion bar suspension. Quirky as Chrysler engineering was, they still were miles ahead of the Kenosha boy's efforts. Those vacuum powered wipers on the Gremlin are a real pain upon acceleration!

I just wanna know........how would the "doc" and "the nurse" diagnose KFYI's weekend news content?

just curious

Some nuggets (Handel On The Lawyers & Mrs The Nearly Bald One), but for the most part, paid programming crapola. But it's been that way for muchos anos, whereas KT'R is now headed in that direction. Especially lame are the audio tracks from Sunday morning talking-head TV shows. The Nurse and I'll take more re-runs of Aunt Carlos over the TV shows!.

I think Bill Strauss hit the nail on the head the other day when he said that more commercials are better for everyone. Following his statement to its logical conclusion, the same must be true for paid programming. Right? ;D

Anyone care for some colon blow? ;)

We'll pass on that! But speaking of "blow", it was sure interesting to hear Grant Woods back on KT'R-FM, NOT! The Master Blogger must have reached the end of his Outlook Express list of subs when he tapped the former AG. Nurse Jeff and I couldn't take more than 10 minutes of him, so we don't know if the Amazing Herbie or Super Kid were on ???

Dear god, someone put the windbag back in front of the mic.

Thankfully, I am 8000 miles away and out of range.

funny how you listened even though you were "not interested"......

Radio people do have a bad habit of doing things like that. ;D

My ears are still hurting from listening to Grant Woods last Friday. Great guy, just keep him away from the microphone!! ;)

Of course, people complain about "too much politics" and the endless politics, but when someone uses radio as a story-telling medium, they complain that they aren't talking about politics.

Aunt Carlos spent a half hour Wednesday morning talking about his wife's 50th birthday. zzzzzzzz. He even credited his good bud Pat McBland for recommending a fancy restaurant (not the Big Apple) for the birthday blowout. zzzzzzz. Like Glenn Beck, Aunt Carlos wanders off time to time which makes the Nurse and I even more convinced that the Master Blogger doesn't listen to his own station. How else would you explain the interplay of Aunt Carlos, his newschick and call screener? Is he trying to be Nearly Famous or just another Beth & Bill kinda Aunt? Advantage KFWhyEye.

Agree with last poster, had to turn it off because of the birthday crap. Two days of it. Disappointing where the show has gone. Sounds like somebody who isn't doing homework any more. Or the producer just gave up. I've given up. Back to the eye.
