That's no bull: 101.7 doubles its ratings

End of summer and start of football. WBZ-FM picked up 1.1.

WBZ-FM I can understand; they have the Patriots. But WEEI-FM trudged through the month with a bunch of meaningless Red Sox games, most of them losses, and lots of "Where did it all go wrong?" Sox talk to go with them. How would that help ratings? Wouldn't listeners who were glad to see football back just flip to the station that carries their favorite team?

UPDATE: Oops, I see these figures are for the first three weeks of October, not September. My mistake. Still, with WEEI-FM not being the Pats flagship, why would they pick up listeners? Maybe people who just weren't listening to sports radio at all while the Sox stunk up the joint and returned when the Pats gave them something to talk about again?
