As I understand it the frequency, which won't actually be 100.5 but close, has been designated as a non-commercial. Don't look for it to be a major player when it finally happens.

WWWQ has finally got it worked out to have the South Carolina station move out of their way or accept interference so they can upgrade to a 27KW signal.

The new anniston allotment will be a C3 at 100.1fm and if I do recall correctly a non-commercial allotment. No one has gotten the allotment at this time in part do the fact the 100.5 Anniston move is not totally settled.

The move of the former WHMA-FM to Sandy Springs as WWWQ, has not been finalized...that is, they have not been granted a license for WWWQ. The primary reason for this, is objection after objection that has been filed by Preston Small, licensee of WLRR, Milledgeville, Georgia. WLRR operates at 100.7, and filed a counter-proposal to WHMA's original proposal to move into Atlanta. Small wanted to move his station into the Atlanta area, and once had an agreement to sell it for big bucks (to Salem, I think), if the move was approved. This fight has been going on for over 10 years. I suspect that Susquehanna will eventually prevail, but who knows. Stranger things have happened.

As for the Anniston allotment, it is 100.1-C3, but has been requested to be non-commercial. There is also an allotment at 100.7-A at Ashland.<P ID="signature">______________

I remember someone on this board saying that if the FCC disallowed the reassignment of 100.5 to Sandy Springs, GA that WWWQ would wind up having to move back to Anniston. Although that's almost impossible from what I hear (that the FCC would deny the reassignment), wouldn't that be the "nightmare of all nightmares" not only for Susquehanna but also Citadel, with all the hoopla of having moved the "X" to 100.5?

A non-commercial Class C in Anniston? Could JSU grab it, move 100.1 there, and drop 91.9, where no signal upgrade is possible due to all the other co-channel stations nearby?

And I thought the COL for WWWQ was College Park because Sandy Springs isn't an incorporated community? If they do get to upgrade, it'd kill my ability to get the X, which would stink.

I would not think the WWWQ upgrade would cause problems with the X unless you are near the GA/AL border. The COL is College Park but the FCC has allotted signals to non incorporated cities before. But as a side note Sandy Springs will become an incorporated city pretty soon because the voters approved it.
