Hello. I wanted to share my experience over the past few months with other Radio listeners around the Raleigh area.
Ever since 101.1 went off the air, I have desperately tried to fill the my drive with other talk shows. I ended up listening to 106.1 for most of my drives after I heard they hired back Allan Handelman. But, too bad his show is only on the weekends... Anyway, I find it strange as a registered republican, that I can be embarrassed for my party (and fellow man) when I listen to the shows on this channel. While on my lunch break this past week, in five minutes Rush managed to upset me to the point of sending an email to his show and to it's local/national sponsors.
Below is a copy of the email I sent, but what upset me was how good Rush was able to twist the subject matter around. In a short bit before 1pm, Rush played some of Jeremiah Wright's sound clips. Rush summarized them in a way that made Wright sound like he hated America. In my email, I point out how I have never paid any attention to Jeremiah Wright speak, mostly because I missed his message with such an over the top delivery and I just took Rush at face value, that Wright hated America. But for this particular instance, it was Rush's summery that really upset me. He went on to describe Jeremiah Wright two major talking points. Collateral damage and Blowback, (note without actually using these two words). The same exact things that generals have talked about before congress and stated that this is a threat to national security for years.
This was my "I'm done with this station" moment when I heard this. It boiled down to Rush pointing out that Jeremiah Wright hates America because of these views. So wouldn't that mean these generals who also talk about same thing hate America too? I think not. This was such a cheap shot I couldn't listen any more. I really miss listening to Clark Howard when on my lunch break...
A small note about the CC sponsors. I got three replies, one from a national sponsor and two from local 106.1 sponsors. It's nice to know someone added it to the pile

Subject: Misleading comments on Rush radio
Today before your 1pm break you were talking about Jeremiah Wright, talk about how we deserve to be attacked because of our foreign policy resulting of the death of innocent people. I listened to the sound bites you played and was put off by his tone, to the point where I completely missed his message – It sounded like hate speech. But your summery is what shocked me. You pointed out the reason why Wright hates America is because he said we deserved to be attacked. While I will agree that no one deserves to be attacked for any reason. But you failed to define what Wright was talking about without using the true definition: Blowback. For years the us foreign policy has caused all sorts of blowback. We hear of blowback happening all the time, one of the most recent examples would be “Fast and Furious” and the amount of blowback it has caused. Something else you also touched on was the killing of innocent people, you sounded disgusted by just hearing this fact. Since 2003, over 100,000 innocent people have died in the Iraq war. According to King’s College London, 11,000 innocent deaths were directly caused by coalition forces.
By implying that there is no such thing and blowback and that the last two administrations had not killed a single innocent person. You are grossly misleading your audience.
I am a registered republican that recently started to listen to your show on Rush Radio 106.1. But I will no longer listen to this station, I plan to avoid its sponsors (CC'ed or messaged) and get satellite radio. This is another small example of blowback.
Thank you, Michael G. - Cary NC .
