The 2024 predictions thread

WWE surprisingly gets Raw on Fox or NBC.

WB Discovery kicks AEW off their channels and AEW ends up on ION television airing Dynamite only.

In a surprise move Fox gets the NBA TV rights and airs NBA games on both Fox and My Network TV.

Cable subscribers will drop further causing various cable channels to close down.

ESPN ends up on life support after failing to keep the NBA.

WWE Raw on FOX...that sounds more realistic. *Not ABC.* They had SmackDown, and more people are cutting the cord. USA could end up dumping it entirely (maybe next year, maybe later) and having the program go straight to Peacock, however. Much like the Sunday baseball and other sports that are exclusive to streaming...not that WWE is a sport anyway, it's scripted 🤷‍♂️

another scandal happens with Jimmy Fallon that gets him canceled by cancel culture and then the Tonight Show looks for a new host.

If that happens, Jimmy won't be cancelled by "cancel culture", it'll be consequences for his own behavior. If the summer hostile work environment story was accurate, he's very fortunate NBC didn't blow him up on the spot.

Comedy Central cancels The Daily Show sighting declining ratings and failing to find Trevor Noah's successor as host as the reason for it's ending.

Nah. They'll make a hire. That person will have a year to make it work. After that, all bets are off.

John Oliver ticks off Warner Brothers Discovery with a episode of Last Week Tonight, resulting in surprising cancelation and thus he replaces the canceled Daily Show with the same format at Last Week Tonight, but under a new name and becomes a Monday-Friday show.

That ship sailed nine days ago:

And do you have any idea how much work goes into research and production of "Last Week Tonight"? There's no way to do that five days a week. It's why they do 30 a year.

That might be a little extreme. They still have MNF. women’s basketball, men’s college basketball, the NHL, etc.

I think Comedy Central either needs to cancel the Daily Show or give Jon Stewart a blank check to come back no Paul Sunderland for 2024 Olympics Arena Football League on the cw

Part of the delay may be that Stewart is a free agent since Apple ended its deal with him.

But a blank check is out of the question. Especially with Shari Redstone shopping Paramount.

I always get a kick out of reading these "predictions" threads. Some comments are pretty good, while others post what appear to be "wish lists" of what they'd personally like to see happen, rather than predictions of what actually might. Others are, of course, just completely out of touch with the reality of current programming trends and practices.

Also, it appears Michael Kosta solo and the pairing of Desi Lydic and Jordan Klepper delivered solid ratings.

Deadline suggests a decision could be made by the end of the month:

Bahahaha….no, just stop.

This is a joke, right?

This isn’t even comprehensible.
Scott Van Pelt takes his Sportscenter show live on-site on Mondays and have done Sportscenter live at NBA Finals in the past.
Sprectrum Essentials is missing lots of National channels that aren't local or one bug Sports ones.

Nexstar adds a secondary channel In KC buy acquiring KMCI and KSHB puts syndicated programming/local programming on KPXE none Primetine hours.

CBS adds MLB/NBA/NHL and CBS Sportsline HQ gets added to Cable Systems.

Fox adds Fox News Tonight to its stations.
