I do not think that Mark Thomas is playing polka from 7 to 8am anymore. Lately when getting ready for work I hear 50's and 60's oldies. Some of the real hardcore die in the wool polka types are upset Im sure. On the other hand John Todaro and Marie Klein probably dont mind.

I like the song, are you going to San Jose. He played that yesterday.

RRRRs - actually you couldnt be more wrong. polka is not my thing either but there is quite the niche for it, more than we realize. timmers polka show on sunday always sounds sold out and i hear WGPA blasting out of barber shops and stores all around bath, slatington, walnutport, etc on sundays when timmer is on with his marathon morning show.

drpickle - the song is called "do you know the way to san jose" not "are you going to san jose." great song nonetheless. i like when she sings "whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa" at the end.

Point well taken. I don't doubt that people enjoy the polka show. And Sunday morning is a great time for such a show, but come on, morning drive M-F?

Gunther could allow the sound of monkey's defecating on the microphone and more people would tune in so long as we get our reliable traffic and weather reports every ten minutes in the morning.

didn't barry melrose sing that song when he coached the la kings??

and 2nd point.. when did wgpa ever get this much attention?? i guess ken had some value after all.
