THE 70'S TONIGHT AT 6PM

Never mind, I just read your blog on your site and you're are working on a 24/7 schedule. I guess it's hard when you only have so much bandwidth.

the problem is not bandwidth..but a dedicated pc set to run 24/7..which i've had some minor problems with..my main pc works fine with the livecasts on sat/sun nights..but i've had some glitches with my third pc i've set up to run on auto during thre week

aww....c'mon..it was more than occasional... ;D hope you like the tunes, spots, and jingles..thanks for listening..i do it live sat/sun nights starting around 6 or so..even as i type this i'm working on a dedicated pc to run 24/7 with the tunes

Listened to just about the whole show! Great stuff! Enjoyed the retro commercials!

Gentlemen (and Ladies),

I hate to say this, but what Deltas was doing Saturday Night is the future of Radio, Internet Broadcasting. The technology is already here to receive internet only stations portable, in cars, iPods (podcasting), where ever there is a Wi-Fi signal, and Wi-Fi is getting bigger and bigger. People are going to go where they can find what they like, and most of the music he was playing hasn't been played over terrestrial radio.

The good part of it is, the quality is better than FM, no static like AM, and as he adds more processing, tweaks it, he'll get the sound he wants.

The only thing about his show is that he needs to keep in mind he is not just broadcasting to Gallatin, Tennessee, but the whole country and the world. Lots of people that will be listening to him will probably not know where Gallatin, Tennessee is, so it's best to cater to the whole country in this type of new broadcasting that is catching on like wildfire. If he keeps up with what he is doing, he will be successful.

The good part about this is that the FCC has no control over the internet, thanks to the communications of 1996, and as long a music rights are paid, there will be many stations pop up like this. The quality of his broadcast was better than FM radio.

I went to the electronics section at Wal-Mart this afternoon, and I only found "one" Sony AM/FM Portable radio. All their electronic section seems to be dedicated to HD TV's, Laptop computers, iPods, etc. I didn't see any traditional boom boxes, radio/cd stereo systems portable radios, etc. Something tells me the generation after us will lose contact with terrestrial radio. Internet and podcasting will get bigger and take over. This is what is music industry is afraid of.

I know many of you disagree with what I'm saying, but I'm seeing more people with iPods than portable radios in their hands these days. Cell phones will be able to receive Internet stations and podcasting as well in the future.

i don't think doesn't matters where i'm at..if my format is what someone wants to hear..they won't care where it originates.wls or wabc didn't change their tactics for me when i tuned them in years ago.. i have not promoted the station much other than this board..and on my facebook page..still the audience grows a tad each week..sunday night had a total of 65 people sample the stream..some stumble in..hear it's not what they want, and move on..others hang around for a few hours. out of the 65 who galloped through, about a dozen are high school friends of mine who'm i've told about the show and like the music we grew up with, and remember more than the same old 300 songs of "oldies" stations.(I HAVE 4000, AND I PLAYED EVERYONE OF THEM ON THE AIR BACK THEN) I know 65 listeners is not worth bragging about, but in the last few weeks it's grown from 1 or 2 to the current number...and they are not all in gallatin..they are spread out from alaska to puerto rico. kinda wild to think i can sit here and have that much power try that coverage.. wsm ..lol....it's just a fun thing..but comments i've received revolve around the same theme.."i haven't heard that in years"...a few from this board have sampled the show and find the vintage spots and jingles the neatest thing about the program..it's run pretty much as a real radio show..with spot breaks at 20/20 , top of the hour id's...i'm shooting for a feb 1st launch date of a seperate 24/7 stream with a third dedicated pc that will do nothing other than crank out the music in total random fashion..no spots, or jingles..just the tunes..the camera may add some sort of perverted entertainment..watching an old man sit here, playing 30 years of rock and drinking beer..other than the age factor..not much different than 40 years ago.. ;)...but i sincerely appreciate all the comments...thanks CHUCK LUNDI'S ROCK BOX..IT'S NOT THE SAME OLD SONG

Well, some folks may want to know where you are, they may have lived here at one time or may have friends and family here. But that's not important, what is important is 65 listeners to one stream is a heck of alot of people. More than many signals have. You should be proud. You're doing something that nobody is doing, AND.....you maybe getting a younger audience that doesn't know the music from era's.

The WABC, CKLW, jingles add a "nostalgia flavor to it". I heard those Saturday Night. I heard retro spots from Coke (which I remember) and much more. I was in grammar school and jr. high when some of those songs you played were new, that's why I sat and listened. You were playing songs that consultants have forgotten. You having 65 listeners at one time listening to you says it all, the broadcast consultants and their audience test are all wrong or fake.

The main thing is your station has power, more than a broadcast station, and you're reaching millions. I could tell Saturday Night you had listeners in other states. The 70’s were a good era for me, growing up and you played songs that get no airplay radio at all. You know, 4000 songs are alot than the typical Classic Hits/Oldies station programs. They play it safe with their 300 to 400 song list, and that's burn out. That's what killed 96.3 in Nashville, the same old songs, over and over. You now have an advantage over them. When you get your internet station running 24/7, you’ll find lots of listeners. It’s good to know you have no boundaries.

When I go up to Maryland this spring, my blackberry has internet access. I'll tune it in and listen to it. The camera is good entertainment to folks. I've read good comments about it and I would keep doing that too! Keep up the good work. Enjoyed it Saturday Night.
