The 97.1 and 107.3 translators.

According to the FCC, the Application for Transfer to Cox was accepted on 8/14. It'll be 2-3 months (minimum) before the sale is finalized.

The Applications for Clear Channel were granted on 7/26. Parties usually wait until the grant is final before consummating the sale. That's another 30 days.

In the meantime, they'd have to get Reach to agree to retransmit their stations instead of the Reach programming. Probably not gonna happen.

Having fun with speculation here, since it's been quiet in the market otherwise... Forgive me.

What if WMMO's format moved to 107.3 (after a move-in of course) and something FM Sports-like (ESPN) landed on 98.9? God wouldn't that be awful!

Now back to our regular programming... (as the board experts bury me for suggesting such things)

Can't happen as a practical matter, 107.3 is only a translator, so it has to rebroadcast something else. Cox is not going to move something that makes as much money as MMO does to an HD-2 and a translator. Look for ESPN on 107.3.

I for one welcome ESPN on 107.3. That 107.3 had one heck of a signal for a translator. So I wonder if 97.1 is in fact for 740 on fm? CC has done a similar thing in Tampa for wdae over there on FM. I love this speculation stuff.

W297BB does have an impressive signal. At 250 watts @ 1,344 Feet HAAT its 54dBu contour covers Daytona Beach and covers Orlando with a comparable class "A" city grade FM signal.
