The 99.5/102.5 flip sound file will be posted here

Don't try it now (before 12:30 p) because it hasn't happened yet but when it does:

The 102.5 flip, classical to country
http://microfurry.250free.com/WKLBSwitch.mp3

The 99.5 flip, country to classical
http://microfurry.250free.com/WCRBSwitch.mp3

also later I will try to isolate just the actual changeover. For now what will be posted will be
a half hour or so of each format on each station. It will take longer for the 99.5 flip to be posted.
That's because I'm taping the 102.5 flip onto my computer and it'll be uploaded right away but
the other one is taped on cass. and I have to transfer it to computer and then upload it.
That one may not be up until at least 1:30 pm.

It sounds like WCRB is finishing up their old frequency with a piece by Copland. Over at 99.5, it's said that the Country Cafe will launch at noon and those who make it onto the air will win $102.50 in honor of the new freq.

The piece by Copland sounded like a rodeo hoedown at times...
Ricochet singing national anthem on 99.5...
Dead air on WCRB for a moment...

And here we go.

end of Ricochet song pops up on 102.5
Country Music...102.5 FM

99.5: :"Thanks for moving with us to our new home on the radio"

102.5: "A newer more powerful signal"

99.5: Hallelujah Chorus. "WCRB, Lowell/Boston"

102.5: Country 102.5 jingle then Rascal Flats cover of "Life is A Highway" from the movie Cars.

On WKLB.com: "99.5" morphs to "102.5". "Same great music, brand new frequency"
This then morphs into their newly redesigned site (though one ad for a Martina McBride concert
still says "Country 99.5 presents..."
WCRB's site just says "new site coming soon" but there is a listen now link.

...though under the ad for the concert it says "Country 102.5 presents..." but under that there's something about traffic and it says "Country 99.5"...will take awhile to get all that working right. Country995.com re-directs to the WKLB site.

I know Toby Keith a lot better than I know classical. Didn't know the name of the piece, but it sounded
like--and yes it was--the music used in the "beef--it's what's for dinner" ad.

Coincidentally, British progressive rock group Emerson, Lake & Palmer did a rock instrumental adaptation of "Rodeo: Hoedown" on their 1972 "Trilogy" album and called it just "Hoedown", credited to "Copland, arr: Emerson, Lake & Palmer".
