The ABC 2023-2024 season Thread

I'm guessing with a writers strike it's going to take a little bit extra time to figure out what they want to pick up
i can see this strike being a more than 100 day strike as i'm sure SAG-AFTRA will join the WGA strike as they have authorized their own strike and i'm sure more unions in Hollywood will join the strike.
i think Hollywood is about to feel a reckoning and may face a doomsday scenario in the near future and in a way, they deserve it for getting super greedy, especially after the mergers of all the media companies too.

Looks like Niecy Nash is getting impatient…
Their going to have to make their decisions soon and Home Economics and the good lawyer as the cast usually gets released from their contracts June 30th so they can look for other acting jobs.

Don’t forget about the strike that’s ongoing, which could make matters even worse. A lot at stake here, especially for the fans and viewers of the aforementioned series.

Exactly, ABC has already passed on 4 of it's new pilots and if they cancel The Good Lawyer and not renew the other 2 shows ABC will be the first network this fall not to have any new shows on the schedule this fall.

Kind of looking like the networks are all planning for NO fall season, for scripted content at least.

This sort of tracks as any show premiering in September would likely need to start filming now, and most of the shows haven't even been WRITTEN yet.

It makes since, I also don't get why they can't maybe push some of their reality shows that they have on in the spring in the fall so they have some scripted shows in mid season but then again it's probably a money thing.

Not just a money thing. If it’s the shows for next spring, you’re talking about production schedules that may not have the wiggle room to be ready for fall. This spring, the season was well underway.

ABC did hold some of their summer 2023 games to late summer/fall, but there are limits to what they can do with some shows.

I've mentioned it elsewhere but o&os WABC, WPVI, and WTVD are starting 10 am newscasts to replace Rachael Ray. Tamron Hall moves to 2 PM and GH stays put at 3.
