While going through some old audio tapes of mine I found a ABC special that I recorded from the 70s. It was about the Beatles. If I remember back then it was after midnight on the east coast when it was on. Does anyone remember this special??

Well...Tell us more about it. What year did it run? What night of the week? Was it docu-drama, or what? Or was it an ABC radio special?
I remember an ABC made-for-TV movie about the early Beatles that ran the night after Thanksgiving in 1979. It's not that one, is it?
It was a documentry about the Beatles. It had to be around the late 70s. The only part I remember about it is that they had the old Cavern Club clip of them singing "Some Other Guy" early in the program. I was only about 10 when it was on. And it was on late after prime time possibly midnight.
On your audio tape, does the George Harrison character say the line: "We've got to get out of the grotty bog"?
Do the characters playing The Beatles come out with the line: "Where we going fellas? To the Top! What Top? To the VERY Top!"
Me and a few my college pals, who were Beatles fans and remembered this movie well, used to riff on these
lines and others from the movie all the time...
And that link, kylebook, is the ABC movie I spoke of---from the night after Thanksgiving, 1979. Hmm. I vaguely remember that. I remember thinking "boy, this is bad". Have not seen it since.
